Welcome to The Zion Park District

ZION PARK DISTRICT
Zion Park District was founded in 1946. The Illinois Legislature has
given Zion Park District the particular responsibility of providing and
maintaining open space, and of offering recreational facilities and
programs for your enjoyment and use. Approximately eight percent
of your tax bill represents the park district portion.

OUR PURPOSE
Whether it’s by offering wholesome programs, activities and special
events, by providing enjoyable facilities or by preserving the aesthetic
beauty of our community, the sole purpose of Zion Park District
is the enrichment of lives.

BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Your Park District Board consists of five elected commissioners.
Each commissioner is elected for a six year term. Once every two
years, you choose the person to represent you on the Park Board.
The next election will be held in April, 2009. One commissioner will
be elected at that time. Board meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of
each month at 7 p.m. at the Shiloh Center.
