Hosah Prairie Nature Area

In 2015 it was recognized as a Ramsar wetland of international importance, as part of the Chiwaukee-Waukegan Beach Ridge Plain. Hosah Park’s unique habitats include remnant sand prairie, dune, swale, and panne of the highest ecological value. It is home to many rare and endangered plants native to the Illinois Dunes. This site also provides habitat for several endangered and threatened bird, insect, and amphibian species. Please help preserve and protect this special natural area.
