The Zion Park District received the 2014 Illinois Youth Recreation Corps Grant

The Zion Park District received the 2014 Illinois Youth Recreation Corps grant funded by The Department of Natural Resources in June 2014. This grant allowed the Park District to employ 31 youth workers between the ages of 16 to 25 over the summer. The youth worked in maintenance, concessions, day camp, golf, and at the pool. For many this was their first employment opportunity. The Youth Grant assisted with summer staffing needs for the Zion Park District. All participants acquired valuable skills, work experience, and established a sound work ethic to help them be successful in future employment. The Zion Park District would like to thank Governor Quinn and the State of Illinois for the opportunity to participate in the program.
