The Zion Park District in partnership with the Zion-Benton Public Library hosted the 27th Annual Black History Program on Saturday, February 25, at Zion-Benton Township High School. The event honored everyday people, teachers, minsters, community activist, and so many more dedicated to making our community a better place to live, work, and play. The audience was treated to singing, dancing, poetry, a drill performance, and a wonderful lunch. The year’s event was themed “It Takes a Community to Raise a Child.” Event t-shirts are still available for sale, 1 for $15 or 2 for $25. For additional information please contact David B. Osborne, Sr. at 847-746-5919. Pictures from the event may be viewed at 27th Annual Black History Celebration.
